Michael DeLola
is a multidimensional photographer and lover of delicate details
with a primary focus on fungi and slime molds, as well as insects and other arthropods. He occasionally points his lens at other creatures, such as humans or squirrels. He is also a forager, naturalist and citizen scientist.
Michael’s work aims to explore the beauty and nature of small and unseen organisms in Maine. He studies local biodiversity and ecology of flora, fauna and funga while highlighting it through perspectives often overlooked.
Through his lens he not only aims to magnify his subjects, but also their importance in the context of our lives, and our futures, as well as the future of Maine’s delicate and diverse ecosystems.
